Have you ever used marble dust?

Have you ever wanted to explore an idea you had, but never had the time?

Do you just want to play and not worry about the outcome?

In this Contemporary Painting workshop...It's not about quantity...but quality. We offer a relaxed environment in which to explore your own ideas and interpretations using different materials and even the ones you are comfortable with. We don't necessarily "throw the baby out with the bath water" because even contemporary art follows principles of design, composition, rhythm and color.

Students will expand their creative potential and have fun exploring the freedom in style and techniques of contemporary painting and drawing.

Are you interested in Abstraction? Realism?

Do you prefer minimalism or Non-Objective Art?

Whatever genre you prefer, it is welcome in this class. Explore a variety in media, from oil to acrylic, pastel, charcoal, and other materials. This class is open to students at any level in their art endeavor. Students will be exposed to demonstrations, discussions, and “hands-on” experience.

Do you want to prepare for a gallery exhibit?

Do you need a cohesive body of work?

For some of our students, this class is the perfect place for doing just that. Creating a body of work for exhibition can be a daunting task and sometimes all one needs is a bit of direction, encouragement and honest critique.

Guest Speakers every 6 to 8 weeks will inspire and challenge you to think about your art in new and different ways. In these talks and demonstrations, students will be exposed to works by contemporary artists who have broken through traditional concepts concerning the parameters of their art.
